Maryland Car Dealer Serves First CARS or Cash for Clunkers Customer

Yesterday Preston Automotive Group confirmed their first deal under the new CARS act. The CARS act was signed into law in late June, allowing customers trading in non fuel efficient vehicles the opportunity to receive up to $4500 from the government towards the purchase of a more fuel efficient vehicle.

Al and Betsy Mullins were the first to purchase a new vehicle from the Preston Automotive Group receiving full benefits from the CARS act. The couple traded in their 1990 Ford Bronco 4×4 that managed a combined 11 miles per gallon EPA estimated fuel economy to purchase a 2009 Ford Focus that received an combined EPA estimated fuel rating of 27 miles per gallon at Preston Ford.

Since the trade-in received a fuel economy rating of under 18 miles per gallon and the new vehicle purchased got at least 10 miles per gallon more than the trade in, the couple received the full credit totaling $4500 for a trade-in that otherwise might have been less than $3500.

Preston Ford of the Preston Automotive Group was the first of the group to finalize a deal under the rebate program. Earl Wilson, the salesman that made the deal, commented 'Al and Betsy heard about the CARS act, came in to see if they qualified and ended up with a new fuel efficient Focus for much less than what they would have normally paid.'

The Preston Automotive Group offers 67 models eligible for purchase under the program and has already noticed the increase in customer inquiry since the new bill has become effective and they plan on increased sales starting with the month of July. The program is expected to provide cash vouchers for an estimated 250,000 vehicles and began July 1, 2009 and run until November 1, 2009 or until the funds designated for the program have been exhausted.

Hotel Indigo Opens First of Three Properties in St. Louis

Newly-renovated $10 million hotel brings boutique charm to cosmopolitan Central West End

ATLANTA - Hotel Indigo today announced the opening of Hotel Indigo St. Louis Central West End following a $10 million renovation by Roberts Hotels Group of the historic Bel Air West Motel, which first opened in 1958 as the city's first motel. The Central West End property is the first of three Hotel Indigo properties planned for St. Louis; additional hotels are slated to open in University City and the downtown convention district in 2011 and 2012, respectively.

Located in an upscale neighborhood known for its rich architectural heritage, the 127-room boutique hotel was recently included on the National Register of Historic Places by the National Park Service.

"We've had our eye on this hotel for several years now. Thanks to the design flexibility of the Hotel Indigo brand, we've been able to restore the architectural and historic detail of the building while also infusing a sophisticated and relevant design palette that's expected from a boutique hotel," said Steven Roberts, president of the Roberts Companies. "The structure showed so much promise, and we were thrilled when the opportunity came to restore it to its former glory while adding a new, chic brand to the market."

Roberts Hotels Group, a subsidiary of The Roberts Companies, owns both the Hotel Indigo St. Louis Central West End and the downtown property currently in the pipeline. The Roberts Companies is owned by Michael and Steven Roberts, two brothers ranked among the country's most successful African-American businessmen.

"As the 'Gateway to the West', St. Louis is a vibrant, internationally renowned city with a distinctive culture that makes it popular as both a business and leisure destination, and we're pleased to be working with the Roberts Hotels Group on two projects there," said Janis Cannon, vice president, global brand management, Hotel Indigo. "The Interpret Indigo design program will allow us to offer a unique experience at each of these properties in St. Louis, while still providing the service culture and consistency that our guests expect."

Minutes from the Saint Louis Zoo and the famous Gateway Arch, Hotel Indigo St. Louis provides convenient access to downtown and the city's leading cultural institutions. The property is located within blocks of Barnes-Jewish Hospital and one block from Forest Park. Nearby attractions include the Saint Louis Art Museum, the Missouri History Museum, the America's Center Convention Complex, Saint Louis University, Washington University, theater district and art galleries.

Hotel Indigo St. Louis features inviting guestrooms with plush bedding, hard-surface flooring with area rugs, a spa-inspired bath experience, and complimentary high-speed Internet access in guestrooms and public spaces. The hotel also offers gourmet menu items and full service-bar at Phi Bar and Bistro, complimentary parking, a 24-hour business center, and more then 1,100 square feet of meeting space for business functions or special events.

The Hotel Indigo St. Louis Central West End is owned and managed by Roberts Hotel Management Group LLC under a license agreement with IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group), [LON: IHG, NYSE:IHG (ADRs)], the world's largest hotel group by number of rooms.

Meeting the desires of today's traveler, Hotel Indigo is an upscale boutique brand that delivers a refreshing and inviting guest experience that is truly reflective of the local community. From the locally-inspired murals to the seasonal renewal program where the images, music, scent, and menu items change four times a year, Hotel Indigo gives guests a vibrant, engaging and genuine boutique experience.

With the addition of Hotel Indigo St. Louis there are currently 28 Hotel Indigo properties open worldwide and more than 60 hotels under development, either in the pipeline or in final negotiation. By the end of 2009, Hotel Indigo will almost double its footprint in the Americas by opening properties in New York City, San Diego, and Miami Beach.
